{TWD} Honey Peach Ice Cream

Woo hoo!! It is still Tuesday my time and I am posting.

Thank you to Rainbow Brown at Brown Interior for choosing this delicious recipe.

Things I learned from this recipe:
-I need an ice cream maker, I tried doing it by hand and gave up and went to bed. Once we got past the gummy layer on the top it was pretty good but still kind of icy
-I need a Kitchen Aid mixer....just because
-Nectarines are a good substitute for peaches and don't have to be peeled
-I should have washed out the ice cream container before throwing it in the trash to freeze this in instead of the giant bowl that is taking up my freezer at the moment

I thought this was pretty tasty as did both of my mini tasters. Hubby said "Oh! There's the peach!" It tasted vanilla to him with an aftertaste of nectarines but he said he liked it.

Will I make this again? Maybe but not until I get an ice cream maker!
Pictures to come. I taught my first class at the college I work at tonight after working a full day. So, I am tired.
Bake On!

  1. Great post, Karen! Yup, you definitely need an ice cream maker. And a KitchenAid. Just because!

Kudos for trying to make this by hand! Hope you get an ice cream maker (just because!) so you can try this again soon! =)

I agree. You need an ice cream maker and a kitchenaid. For reasons I can't explain, I had the ice cream maker first. Now, I consider both a necessity.

Oh, yes, do get an ice cream maker. It's an essential kitchen appliance!

  5. I just got an ice cream maker and LOVE IT! Put it on your wish list. ;) Glad you liked your frozen custard anyway! ;)

  6. You get an A++ for even attempting it! And it was good! Where there's a will, there's a way. Great post.

  7. Great job for trying without an ice cream maker! Glad you guys enjoyed it!

  8. The good news is that ice cream makers are relatively cheap. Nice job!
