When we arrived her group was already on stage for their first dance. One of the instructors informed me that we were supposed to be there 30 minutes prior to her rehearsal time. If you know me I do not like to be late for anything. It used to be a lot worse, to the point that I wouldn't want to go if I had to walk into a quiet room and have everyone stare at me. There is a reason we left and hour and a half before rehearsal for a 30 minute drive.
I looked the instructor in the eye and told her we had left an hour and a half before. We got stuck behind an accident on one road for 20 minutes and then when we got to Church street traffic was at a complete stop. I managed to navigate my way through downtown to get her there 5 minutes late. I was pretty ticked. She half apologized to me for being so rude and helped me pull the rollers out of Munchkins hair as fast as we could.
She managed to get out there for the second run through of her jazz rehearsal. We had quite a bit of time after that to go outside and take a couple of pictures in her tap costume. That rehearsal went really well and then it was time for ballet. I think this was my favorite dance of all. The little girls were so sweet and sort of graceful.
Recital finally finished after 8 and we headed for home a lot less stressed out than when we got there.

I hate being late too. I like to get to where I need to be at least 15 minutes beforehand.
I remember those days with you and your sister.
Love ya,
Mom
