Jesus and the....

So Wednesday night I picked my girl up from Cubbies and she had done a little craft. I had her tell me about it. Mommy : "Who's this over here in the water?" My Girl : "That's Jesus" Mommy : "Who are those guys in the boat?" My Girl : "Those are the recyclers!" Even back then they were into the environment! :0)

Bowling and Dinner 8

Last night was my connect groups first Dinner 8. For this you are supposed to get together with 3 other couples. The host home provides the house and the main dish, the second couple brings bread and a side, the third couple brings salad and the last couple bring dessert. It rotates each month. Well, our 1st host was sick so the rest of us decided to get together anyway. We decided to go bowling at our local family fun center.
The first thing we noticed was that we had bumpers in our lane. Our little girl bowled and so did our friends little boy who is about 4 and 1/2. I guess the bumpers were helpful but I think it threw me off. One of the girls figured out how to use the bumpers to her advantage in the second game and kicked out bums!
One of the maintenance guys brought over a little ramp for the kids to use so it wouldn't take an hour for their bowling balls to get down the lane. They thought that was pretty cool and were able to even set it up themselves.
One thing about me is that if there is any possible way I can injure myself in a sport (involved or not) it will happen. Last night was an exception for me but apparently the apple doesn't fell far from the tree. My little girl was trying to do a push up or something and smacked her head on the floor giving herself a really nice purple bruise on her forehead.
I think we have decided that our Dinner 8s need to be Dinner and activities because we had such a good time. As soon as I edit the pictures I will post a few.

I Won!!

So, I never actually win anything. Everyone gets a million surveys offering free things and I never take them because they are all spam. Well, several weeks ago I got a survey in my email that I actually use. I am guessing that they got it from Lifeway from when I was a moderator for the Bible Study Believing God. It was a survey about church resources and offered a drawing for a gift card for I actually had a couple of minutes and decided I would go ahead and fill it out.
Monday I got an email saying Congratulations you have won $200 to Woo hoo!!! We are painting our kitchen right now and I was able to get a pot rack and nail rack for after we finish painting. I also got homedic massage slippers, 2 pairs of tights for my little girl, a pair of jeans for my little boy, a valentine gift for my hubby, a mat stack, and 2 games. Quite a haul for someone who never wins anything!
Now, once we get those new drawer pulls we can finish off the kitchen!

New Words and Activities

My friend Sherri has a post over here that talks about all of the new words her little guy is saying. I thought that it would be good to do the same for our little guy. :0) It has been so fun hearing all of the new things he is saying and a great opportunity to record them.
-Mommy (finally)
-Bean (our cat)
-Git Down
-Bean Git Down
-Shoes on
-Shoes off
-vroom vroom
-choo choo
-Feet down
-Daddy (he has been saying this one for months)
-roll please
-scuse me
-down please
-up please
-b (says) buh
That is all I can think of right now. I guess many of them he has been saying for awhile but it is still good to go through and realize what he is already saying.
His favorite video is Toddler Tunes. As soon as he hears the intro music he will stop whatever he is doing and pay complete attention. He does the motions and sings along to The Wheels on the Bus, 10 in the Bed, London Bridge and the Eensy Weensy Spider, and God Loves Me. It is the cutest thing!
He also loves to ride on his fire truck or on his sisters big wheel, loves to color, sing and push the elevator button at church. He also just found the joy of crawling up a little hill outside and sliding down on his bum. This is a huge accomplishment for him since he just started crawling a month ago. He loves being outside and if it wasn't so darn cold we would be out more often. A couple more weeks and we will be out a lot.
I can't believe he will be 2 in just 4 months. Where have the last 2 years gone?
